O'Leary Walker Shiraz 2018
O'Leary Walker Shiraz 2018
Maturation in French oak barriques has added complexity, enhancing the power and elegance of this quintessential Adelaide Hills Shiraz. David O'Leary Winemaker
Wonderful fruit bouquet, with notes of satsuma plum, cinnamon spice, blackberry and forest floor
Rich with great depth of flavour, dominated by juicy blackberry fruit and balanced with a seamless finish of soft tannins and acidity.
The Wyebo vineyard is in Oakbank in the Adelaide Hills; 'wyebo' is an Aboriginal word meaning 'small'. Leo O'Leary (David O'Leary's grandfather) purchased the property in 1912 and it remains in the family to this day.
The high altitude and cool nights in the Adelaide Hills are ideal for slow and even ripening, producing wines with character and purity of fruit. The soils are red loam over quartz and schist, ensuring they are well-drained which allows consistency and balance for the vine.
